Freight - Facom Tool Boxes

Facom JET and Chrono series tool boxes are popular in Europe but importing them to the US can be quite costly. Online distributors in the UK typically quote freight at $700+ plus and reserve the right to charge more. In addition, you still have potential customs fees and international insurance claims to deal with.

I am now able to bring these in through Facom's parent company (Stanley Tool Group) which significantly reduces this cost. Facom tool boxes can be ordered from Ultimate Garage by phone or email and I will lock in the freight costs at the time of your order. If you order online, the freight cost will be invoiced separately.

Freight Cost - All JET and Chrono toolboxes must ship via Freight. Recent outbound shipments from here in the Northeast have been via Fedex Freight or Con-way Freight. I will choose the cheaper of the 2 carriers unless you indicate a preference. I can also use your Fedex Freight account number if you have one for your business.

There are 2 levels of freight service (please indicate your preference when placing your order)....

(1) Standard loading dock or curbside delivery (typically $200-250 for the first box + $50-75 for each additional unit)

(2) Liftgate delivery ($285-375 for the first box and $50-75 for each additional unit). Drivers should have a pallet jack on their truck and will usually bring the pallet to your garage if its not a far distance and there are no steep inclines or driveway obstacles. Otherwise, once the pallet is off the truck, all you need is a utility knife and a pair of tin snips to cut the plastic sheathing and nylon straps so you can carefully take the tool box off the pallet and roll it into the garage. (Facom tool boxes are relatively light weight and roll very easily...assuming the wheel locks have been disengaged!)

Neither one of these services is the same as "inside delivery" where the driver is obligated to deliver and unload the freight and remove the packing materials. The customer must be present to accept, inspect and sign for delivery. Any redelivery attempts will be subject to additional charges.

All Facom products can also be picked up at my NJ location without freight cost but are subject to 7% NJ sales tax.

Freight Inspection & Claims - I'll contact you when your order ships with the Freight carrier and tracking number. You should track your package through the carrier's website and contact them before it arrives to schedule delivery. Please inspect the shipment upon delivery for any signs of damage. If there is damage, you MUST indicate this on the Bill of Lading (See Fedex guidelines below) and contact me within 48 hours so I can start the claim. If damages or shortages are not noted at the time of delivery, subsequent claims will likely be refused by the carrier.

Visible or Noted Loss or Damage - Visible loss or damage is apparent at the time of delivery and should be noted. Noted loss or damage is recorded in detail on the delivery receipt. When recording loss or damage, please use specific details and try to avoid general or generic terms such as “box damaged” or “torn”. This type of notation does not provide adequate support for your claim. Please note: A notation of “subject to inspection,” by itself, is not considered a valid notation of loss or damage.
