Audio Authority's 9870 Series incorporates the key signal paths necessary for premium audio and video entertainment, plus an IR pathway for easy remote control of AV components. All this over just two inexpensive, easy to install Cat 5 cables. The Model 9871 Cat 5 Driver distributes HDTV signals up to 1,000 feet from the source.

The 9870 Package is a great choice for the plasma or LDC HDTV in the garage or any remote location in the house where long interconnect or digital cable runs are ineffective.

The Wallplate

Each Driver feeds two 9878 Wallplates, and expanding capacity is as easy as adding more Drivers and Wallplates. The Wallplate is easy to install in a standard dual-gang electrical box. Each durable, stainless steel Wallplate offers component video, digital audio and analog audio jacks, plus an antenna pass-through jack (RF cable for antenna jack functionality must be added separately). The IR jack provides a convenient pathway for a third party IR remote distribution network over the Cat 5 pathway. IR receiver and emitter equipment not included.

 

Reliable and Expandable

Audio Authority's cable length compensation allows adjustment for the optimal signal strength at any distance up to 1,000 feet from the source. Like their commercial video distribution products, the 9870 Series provides reliable ground isolation, preventing hum bars and other artifacts associated with ground loops.

It's easy to expand a 9870 System to any size. Simply connect additional 9871 Drivers using high quality RCA cables. An unlimited number of Wallplates may be served in this way. The RCA bus output may be used to feed HDTV signals to a local video display and/or sound system.

Wallplates are easy to install in a standard dual-gang electrical box. Two Cat 5 cables deliver component video, digital audio and analog audio to each Wallplate.

The 9878 Wallplate also includes a pass-through jack for Antenna connections (coaxial cable for antenna jack functionality must be added separately). The 3.5mm IR jack provides a convenient pathway for a third party IR remote distribution network over the Cat 5 pathway. Use compatible IR receivers and emitters (see 1171 manual). IR receiver and emitter equipment not included.
