Facom - Corporate Overview - Facom is the leading European brand in hand tools, working for over ninety years with automotive and industrial maintenance professionals. A selection of products is also available for the general public "do-it-yourself" market. All tools are produced to meet very strict performance, strength, safety and ergonomic criteria. And historically, they have been a very good value compared to their competitors (eg, Snap-on, Mac, Matco, Beta, Proto, USAG, etc).
Facom offers a full range of over 8000 products which include the storage product range (trolleys, cabinets, workbenches, portable storage etc.), standard hand tools (wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers, hammers etc.) and specialist tools (Automotive, Electrical, Aerospace etc.) to meet the needs of all repair technicians.
In 2005, Facom was sold to Stanley Tool corporation. In 2011, I began working with the buyers at Stanley to bring the latest and most popular tools and sets to the US market. The key product categories are listed below.
Warranty - most Facom tools are covered under a lifetime factory warranty for MANUFACTURER's DEFECT only! This does not include replacement for wear and tear or mis-use...........
- Abused or cosmetically affected tools (that are still functional)
- Ratchets that are slipping due to lack of maintenance or internal wear and tear
- Consumable products with wearable parts...
- Blades, shear pins, drill bits, drive bits, etc
- Internal drivers - screwdrivers, torx drives, hex drivers
- Tools subject to hammer force & excess torque (impact sockets, impact bits, drift punches, hammer tips, etc)
- Pliers and cutting tools with wearable jaws and blades (pliers, nippers, pinchers, etc)
- Torque wrenches - 1yr warranty
- Air tools - 2yr warranty
Factory warranty implies sending the broken tool back to France for evaluation and repair or replacement. As an alternative, Ultimate Garage will replace most broken Facom tools from stock on a "limited cost" exchange basis. Small items like non-impact sockets and screwdrivers are usually replaced at no cost if the replacement is shipped with a current order. This process is typically cheaper and much faster than sending the tool back to France. In the event a discontinued tool is returned for exchange, the current production item will be supplied as a replacement (eg, a Black Series, Ergotwist or Enduro screwdriver would be replaced with the comparable Protwist version).
This program is only for tools purchased through Ultimate Garage (proof of purchase required) after Jan 1, 2010. Credit or replacement of defective items will be handled on a case by case basis. Customer is responsible for shipping costs (return shipping cost will be waived if the replacement is sent with an outgoing order).
Returns must be pre-approved and sent to.........

Quality & Country of Origin - Facom is known for its quality and innovative products. With the recent transition to Stanley, management has shifted some production to countries with lower labor rates, notably, Italy, Czech Republic, Taiwan & China. Products are still designed and engineered in Europe and construction quality, finish and aesthetics have not changed.
Approximately 65% of Facom's products are still being manufactured in Europe (France, Germany, Italy, Czech Republic, UK, Ireland, and Spain), 30% in Taiwan and 5% in China. These estimates are based on purchases over the past 24 months.
Facom, unlike its main European competitors (Hazet, Stahlwille, Beta, Wera, etc), is now part of a US company. Worldwide sales of Facom are consolidated and reported to the Stanley Group and reflected in their corporate financial statements.
Note - Facom occasionally updates their products or discontinues items without dealer/distributor pre-notification. We try to maintain current photos and details on all products we stock. Ultimate Garage is not responsible for any manufacturer changes in subtle cosmetic details (changes in engravings, markings, knurlings, etc) that do not affect functionality or deviate from the stated product specifications.
