Attix 33 HEPA with InfiniClean™ Filter Cleaning System - new for 2016. The Attix 33 (8 gallon)
and Attix 44 (11 gallon) vacuums could possibly be the most
significant vacuums to come out of Nilfisk/Alto's "blue
line" since the introduction of the Attix 8 & 12 back in
2005. That's a bit of a bold assumption, especially considering I
haven't had a chance to test one yet. Initial impressions are
very positive.
The 2-stage (optional 3-stage)
filtration levels are impressive for vacuums at this price (see
photos with filter details...click to enlarge). The InfiniClean™ (IC)
series
of machines have
been engineered to work without filter bags. A plastic
containment bag is included with the vacuum to make debris
disposal easier and 5-packs of plastic and fleece bags are
available for purchase as needed. The new 33 & 44 models also
appear to be less prone to tipping than the top heavy 30/50
models. The 30 and 33 are both 8 gallon machines but the 33 is
over 4" longer and 2" lower than the older Attix 30.
The Attix 33 IC HEPA is the
Basic IC model with the addition of the HEPA filter element and
HEPA filter cover kit. The retail value of these 2 components is
$224 but they are deeply discounted when you purchase the HEPA
vacuum. This is a suitable alternative to the older Attix 30 HEPA
for painters and other contractors who work with lead or other
nasty materials and require multi-stage filtration with HEPA.
This is a simple "on/off" machine without speed control
or tool triggered autostart circuitry.

If you're a rental shop with a
lot of older (ie, round filter) Alto or Wap machines in service,
you may want to stick with the 30 and 50 models. The filters and
bags for the new models will not fit any other WAP/Alto/Nilfisk
vacuums. Also, if you're a contractor doing construction site
cleanups with large debris, the current Attix 30 or 50 models are
currently a better choice as these both come with larger 36mm
(1.5") ID hoses and can be used with 2" hoses if
necessary.
I'll have more details on
performance and noise levels once I get time to test these new
models. The only problem I see so far is the shipping cost will
be high thanks to Fedex and UPS dimension surcharges. I'll be
covering some of the freight cost by offering $10 flat rate
shipping to customers in the NY/NJ area....if you're west of the
Mississippi, expect to an additional $30-50 in shipping cost.
