2025 Pricing & Tariffs (going from BAD to WORSE!) - it now appears that effective August 29th, there will be NO more ("deminimus") exemption for products imported to the US, regardless of country of manufacture. See https://www.cnbc.com/2025/07/30/trump-de-minimis-shipping.html . This means that even the smallest order (by vendors or consumers) will be subject to a 15-55% tariff which will be more like 25-75% when you factor in brokerage and other fees.
I've started to roll through the new pricing on the 6,000+ items in my online store and will be selling off much of my inventory with no anticipated restocking. Comments in the product listings such as "limited supply at this price" indicate a sale price based on pre-tariff costs.
Here are the impacts to "landed cost" based country of origin. Much of this will be passed through in the revised selling prices. The heaviest impact is on products made in China and Hong Kong which affects less than 3% of my listings.

- Switzerland, + 39%
- Taiwan, + 30%
- India, +35%
- Brazil, +60%
Discontinued Product Lines - Ultimate Garage has recently (in 2024) dropped the Alto/Nilfisk, Prevost and Falcon Stainless product lines. The decreasing profit margins and import tariffs have guided our decision. Remaining inventory of these products will be offered at older pricing with additional discounts. Sales are limited to quantities in stock.
New Services (Organization & Storage) - With some personal issues behind me, I've taken on more modest projects with far broader appeal - organization and storage. As a "Baby Boomer", I see others like myself looking to downsize their living accommodations yet still hold onto many of the possessions accumulated over a lifetime.
